Learn to Play – AM Class – Carolyn Huguenin
Prerequisite: Basic understanding of your instrument and string names.
Materials Needed: Size-appropriate fiddle, recording device(optional), and music stand.
This class is for those who are just beginning their fiddle journey. We will go over correct hand and arm positions to make learning faster and easier. We will talk about how to get the best sound from your fiddle. This class will be taught mostly with tablature and some by ear. By the end, students will be playing several simple tunes to get you on the path to learning more difficult tunes. This class will have a mix of adults and children; I will do my best to balance the needs of both. If you, or your child, require extra help I am happy to stay a bit after class. A spiral-bound booklet of all tunes and instruction will be provided. I love questions and will answer them to the best of my ability and if I don’t know, I will find out!
*tunes and instruction may change based on the general needs of the class.
